Accounting Sucks

Fo those who don't know, I'm in the process of obtaining a two BS degrees from St. Mary's University's adult learning campus in Minneapolis. I've completed all reuqirements for my IT degree and I'm about half way through the business program.

Why two degrees? Well, my employer seems happy to keep footing the bill at this point. It was only another year or so to get a second degree. I'm not sure that they would have been keen on coughing up the coin for grad school. Second, a business degree is a much more general and much more portable degree. I'm not so sure that I want to spend my entire life doing IT work.

I am 100% confident that I don't want to spend any portion of my life doing accounting work. This stuff makes very little sense. The little bit of math that is involved doesn't even seem to make sense. It's just a bunch of codes and practices that everyone agrees on.

I get to spend all of this beautiful fall day at my parents house doing accounting problems while they watch the boy. Jen is even off work todayso I could in theory spend some time with her if I make it through 18 problems and two chapter of very dry reading. Did I mention that this is the first of two courses? ARRRRRGGGGGHHH!

Back - In Full Effect

OK, so I pretty much forgot that I had this blog. I'm going to try to keep it going a bit better. Honestly.

Power washers are cool. I'm getting ready to re-stain my deck so I headed over to White Bear Rentals and loaded a 25 PSI unit into the back of my truck. The thing works like a dream. The yucky grey would peeled away as if by magice to reveal the nice blonde wood beneath. If I'm going to need to re-stain the deck every year or two I suppose it will pay for me to buy one of my own. Why the heck does everything have to be so expensive?
